So the UMAT® exam is only three months away. Twelve weeks. And you might be starting to feel the pinch. Maybe you're beginning to feel the tickle of stress.
Perhaps you have been preparing for weeks already and you have an intimate understanding of the underlying principles of each section. You’ve refined your approach to a fine art and you are blazing through questions on a forty-five second average.
Perhaps you are just settling down to start your preparation. You’ve got an idea about how the exam is put together, and it’s time to knuckle down and try some questions to see how you fare and find out how much extra work you need to do.
Perhaps you’ve just decided the UMAT® Exam might be something that you would like to do. In which case welcome, and by the way
UCAT stands for the Undergraduate Medical and health sciences Admissions Test.
Wherever you are in your preparation though, there is no need to panic. Three months is a whole lot of time and if you make a concerted effort to prepare you will be in good stead to sit the exam.
Let’s break it down a bit. Three months is roughly twelve weeks. This particular three months leaves you with one hundred and forty one days until exam time on the 26th of July. That’s
three thousand three hundred and eighty four hours. Roughly half of those are productive daylight-hours. This leaves you with one thousand six hundred and ninety two productive hours. Let’s say you take just one of those productive hours each day. That’s one hundred and forty one hours between now and the UMAT® Exam.
To put that into perspective, this is what you could do with just one hour a day for one hundred and forty one days.
You could make a round trip to the moon and back.
You could watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy sixteen times.
You could play thirty six matches of tennis.
You could make one thousand six hundred and ninety two toasted cheese sandwiches.
Or, another option is that you could do eight thousand six hundred and forty UMAT® Exam practice questions at exam speed.
When put like that, doesn’t it look a whole lot less daunting? It goes to show that small repeated efforts over time will yield great rewards. So start working away at those practice questions and we’ll see you ace it on July 26th.
